It is severely uncool in this feminism to criticize brown cultures. Religion is no longer seen as the system of oppression it is. There is no clarity at all about sex work.
This is third wave feminism. The men have taken over, religion is a-ok, the hijab is “just a piece of cloth” and sex work is jerk-worthy.
I’m immensely grateful that there are second-wavers out there who have resisted the weakness of conviction and purpose that has engulfed liberalism. They still have opinions and aren’t afraid to voice them. They’re the mothers my mother wasn’t.
Women my age have lost their way and won’t wake up until they’ve experienced oppression.
Twisty recently said feminists should be fluent in race. I added white male progressives should be fluent in feminism and race and men of color should be fluent in feminism. This can happen at the same time women of color express nuances at the intersections of race and feminism.
